    • Knowledge, use and application in situ of different principles and systems (maritime training)
    • Knowledge and ability to apply and calculate (specific training)

    Specific Skills
    • Application of transport techniques, storage and handling of all kinds of goods, taking into account optimisation and safety on-board
    • Operation, maintenance and repair of engines and auxiliary and steering equipment
    • Ability to protect the marine environment and apply environmentally sustainability criteria to maritime transport and the different techniques for preventing pollution of the marine environment
    • Production, distribution and control of the ship’s power generation system and its ancillary services

    • Optimisation of energy production systems for the ship’s heating and auxiliary machinery
    • Machining, assembly and measurements of mechanical systems
    • Knowledge of the development, application, inspection and modification of shipbuilding projects
    • Ability to act as an officer on civilian vessels without any kind of limit and to captain civilian vessels up to 5,000 GT, once the Maritime Administration requirements have been met
    • Determine the position of the vessel using different methods of navigation
    • Ability to plan and control the meteorological-oceanographic course
    • Keep watch safely
    • Use different navigation devices properly
    • Properly respond to different emergency situations and to a Distress signal at sea
